Fall Events & Specials

 

The light on North Haven is a beautiful yellow, the trees are full of more apples than we’ve seen in years, and on many days the crisp morning air warms up to a perfect 70 degrees.

We’ve got some wonderful events and specials at Nebo this fall.

We’ll be doing 5pm Equinox dinner runs from Rockland for the next two Saturday nights (Sept 24th and October 1st) with a few spots still available.  And we’re doing one last Equinox dinner run for our Sunday night Harvest Dinner, October 9th where we’ll be bringing back the popular family-style meal at Nebo to celebrate a wonderful year on the farm. Starting Columbus Day weekend, we’ll be running our weekend special through the end of the year: stay two nights and get a free dinner for two on us (excluding tip, tax, and alcohol).

The farm is full of delicious treats, and many are on the menu this weekend!  The tomatillos are perfect and pickled.  A second round of fresh, thin green beans has become a new favorite as “green bean fries.”  We’ve also got chorizo and fresh eggs from the farm.  And, of course, we love to find as many uses as possible for delicious Maine apples.  See a sample menu from the weekend of September 23/24.  It changes weekly!

The restaurant will be open every Friday and Saturday night through December 31st with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas weekends.

Romantic Valentine’s Day Getaway!

It was a snowy, snowy January on the island and we are starting to feel the effects of a long winter. Luckily, Nebo has just the remedy: our annual romantic Valentine’s Day weekend.

Come join us February 11th or 12th for Valentine’s Day dinner with your sweetie or a lovely evening overnight with our getaway package. We are busy preparing an amazing menu, featuring lots of island-raised meats and locally-grown and caught seafood – see the full menu below.

To help make your Valentine’s weekend special AND affordable, we have an overnight package not to be missed. Spend Friday or Saturday night of Valentine’s weekend at Nebo Lodge and you’ll get a room with a private bath and a three course dinner and breakfast for two, all for just $200 per night. This offer includes sparkling wine and flowers in your room when you arrive to help make your weekend extra special! If all the rooms with private baths are booked, rooms with a shared bath may be available for $175 per night. Offer does not include alcohol or gratuity. Call 867-2007 for reservations!

For this special weekend, we have a fantastic menu featuring many tasty treats. Our bar will be fully stocked with some red and romantic favorites. We’ll have many delicious starters-including our famous island aphrodisiac: the North Haven Oyster on the half-shell-Maine baby fried shrimp tacos, crab and ricotta ravioli, some lovely salads and more.

For the main course we are featuring fresh island scallops, amazing North Haven Turner Farm steaks, a rich linguine bolognese with island-grown meats, a Korean “bi bim bap” vegetarian special, and of course our amazing pizza and lighter bar meals.  For dessert-the most important part of any Valentine’s day meal-we’ll have a Frangelico tiramisu, frozen mocha semifreddo, chocolate chip cookie ice box cake, and our homemade ice cream and sorbet specials.

Oysters on Labor Day, Fall Specials, & Fall Equinox Runs!

We have had a GREAT summer on the island.  The weather has been perfect and we owe a huge thank you to so many old and new friends – our diners and inn guests – for making this summer such a wonderful one.  Summer is still with us and we are making the most of it by adding two Tuesday’s in August to our dinner schedule.  In addition to our regular Wed – Saturday schedule, we’ll also be open on Tuesday August 17^th and 24^th.  Come join us!

We also looking forward to our 3rd Annual Celebration of the North Haven Oyster on Labor Day weekend with oyster specials all weekend and happy hour on the deck from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Saturday and Sunday nights with dollar oysters on the deck shucked by the amazing North Haven Oyster Company. Note we’ll be open Sunday Night of Labor Day weekend.

And many have been asking about our fall schedule. First, we are open!  Second, September on the island is probably the most beautiful month of the year.  It is quiet, peaceful, and an all around wonderful month.  The weather is still perfect for biking and sailing and kayaking, but the busy summer traffic has gone away and you are likely to have the roads and beaches to yourself.  So come for a mid-week vacation or a weekend.  It is the perfect way to extend a wonderful summer.

We also have some special celebrations coming up and we are going to continue with our Equinox Boat Service from Rockland through September for dinner runs. September is a great month for crossing Penobscot Bay and the Equinox trip is the perfect way to enjoy a gourmet dinner on North Haven and still sleep in your own bed. The summer fog is usually gone, the sunsets are gorgeous, and the air is crisp but still warm enough for a trip across the bay.

After Columbus Day we’ll be open for dinner every other weekend with a special New Year’s celebration.  Come celebrate a cozy fall weekend on the island by the fireplace.  It is a perfect and romantic getaway.  After New Year’s we’ll close down for a bit with some special weekends like our annual Valentine’s Day dinner, and other special events and of course we’ll be back in the spring!
