Valentine’s Day & Winter on North Haven!

 

Apparently the groundhog saw his shadow, and despite a relatively warm, snowless winter on the island, a cold snap is predicted for this week. Near-zero temperatures mean more beautiful sea-smoke on the thorofare, huddling by our wood stoves, and marveling at the amazing North Haven winter sunsets.

Come warm up with us this weekend at our annual Valentine’s Day Celebration at Nebo Lodge, this Saturday, February 11th. Full menu below. As winter continues, it is a perfect time to plan a spring or summer trip to the island.  We’ll be open full time again starting in May — not that far away!

A Mark Bittman Visit!

We were thrilled to host one of our food hero’s, Mark Bittman of the New York Times, last weekend and appreciate his very nice mention in his most recent blog post, “Only the Finest Kind.” We look forward to cooking for him again!

He also did a great piece that appeared in Tuesday’s New York Times about one of our farmers, Brenna Chase, in a piece called, “New Farmers Find Their Footing.”
